Meet Stephen - Client Stories

Meet Stephan,
Stephan has been a part of the new, revitalized Meals on Wheels Home Delivered Meals Program since its inception in March of 2026. Stephan is homebound, and his medical conditions prevent him from being able to purchase groceries or cook regularly. The services that we provide allow him to remain in his home in comfort and security knowing that he has a supportive network of caring people that will deliver fresh, never frozen meals to his door.
Stephan reports that the meals we deliver have had a significant impact on his quality of life, as our meals ensure that he eats regularly. He emphasized that he loved the variety in our rotating menu of never frozen meals, and that he loves the quality of our proteins. He also mentioned that he appreciates that our meals are nutritionally balanced because they encourage him to eat more vegetables. He shared, “Sometimes I eat two in a day!”
Stephan wanted us to share his story because he believes our new program is a vital lifeline for vulnerable seniors in our community, much like him. Given funding limitations, he recognizes that nearly all providers have a waitlist including ours, but he is eager to recommend our meal program to others. “If MOWWCCC has the funding to add more clients on, I have more than a few friends in mind that could benefit from this program as I have.”
Our Home Delivered Meals program combined with our long-established Grocery Bag Program deliver fresh groceries and meals to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Our programs receive no funding from the government, meaning our services and free meals are entirely funded through donations.
Our organization and our clients, like Stephan, appreciate every donation.
As we were leaving, Stephan wanted us to share: “My biggest wish is for the organization to stay alive and serving people. I know they pay for meals themselves now and I can only imagine how challenging it must be to balance.”
